Topics and Snippets explained

Topics are where you organize your Snippets from different pages.

If you are doing research on the best Chrome extensions, you could find an important Snippet in the New York Times, an important Snippet on TechCrunch, and one more on the Forbes website.

All those snippets you can organize in a single Topic you might name “The best Chrome extensions of the year”

Create, comment, and share your first Topic

This is a short tutorial on how to use Collabwriting Extension for easy steps:

  1. To create a new topic click the + icon on the top right corner of the extension.

  2. Then, select any piece of text on the webpage and it will appear as a highlight in the extension. To create a new snippet, just press “Enter” or click the “Create” button.

  3. To leave comments on your snippet you just click the Comment button, add any text, link, or screenshot and then press “Enter” or click the “Comment” button once again.

  4. After your Topic is created you can now share it by first setting up the permissions and copying the link at the bottom of the sidebar.

Bonus tip: If you'd like to save something without automatically opening the Collabwriting sidebar, press "Ctrl + Shift + Enter".

All your Topics are available in the Collabwriting Dashboard as well.
